Cabbagetown Cycling Club Gran Fondo on September 11th, 2016

Join us for our first ever (imperial) century ride, the Cabbagetown Cycling Club Gran Fondo, on Sunday, September 11, 2016!

What better way to finish off a great season of cycling than testing your fitness on an epic ride with your fellow CCC mates. The route will start and end at Riverdale Park (not Jet Fuel, so as to avoid the Cabbagetown Festival). We will stop at the Detour Coffee Roasters in Dundas for a well deserved break to rest and refuel before heading back to Toronto. The complete loop is 172 km.

This is a level A/B ride but with the “no drop” rule in effect. It will be a social ride, not a race. The pace of the group will dictate speed and riding time, but plan for about 6.5 to 7 hours riding time, and 8+ hours elapsed time with multiple stops. Except for passing over the Niagara Escarpment, the route is relatively flat with a similar amount of climbing as the CCC Goodwood route (~800 metres vertical). The ride will depart Riverdale Park at 7:30 am.

This ride requires a bit more organization from the ride leaders given the length of the route and what we hope will be a good turn-out from club members. We will have at least three ride leaders with at least one riding sweep. Please RSVP by email to MikesMillar@gmail.com by Friday, September 2nd if you plan to attend.

In the unlikely situation the ride has to be called off due to rain, our back-up date is Sunday, October 16th.

Hope to see you all out for a spectacular day of riding!
